Engagement Photo Shoot in Richmond Park

On the 17th August 2015 I got engaged to my amazing Fiancé, which was one of the most amazing and happiest days of my life. I knew the engagement was coming as we had spoken about it for a few months leading up to the day but I had no clue when it was going to be. My Fiancé decided to pop the question on our 10 months of dating anniversary, which meant it’s a date I wont be able forget. A lot of people were surprised that we got engaged so quickly but we were already living together, with university friends, before dating so everything happened very quickly but for us it felt like the right time.

So back in June this year my Fiancé and I had an amazing photo shoot with the lovely Tina from The Snap Shot Cafe. We decided to have our engagement photo shoot at Richmond Park as we had been living in Kingston for three years, we were both studying at Kingston University, and we loved the spending time in the park so it seemed like the perfect location. Tina suggested that the goldern hour, the hour as the sun is setting, would be the perfect time so we then had to pick a day that had a clear sky and we found one.

We had never been on a photo shoot before so we didn’t really know what to expect from it so were excited but a bit nervous of the evening ahead. We decided to go for a smart/casual look, which I feel really worked with the surroundings. Tina was so lovely and guided use on how to pose and where to stand to make sure we had the perfect photographs. She also made us feel really comfortable and at points we forgot that she was taking photographs, which is how we got some lovely natural shots. I absolutely love the photograph above, it is so natural and gives a glimpse of the relationship that I have with my Fiancé.

The one thing I loved about doing a photo shoot in Richmond Park is that there are so many amazing places to take photographs, making every photograph very different. Richmond Park is known for having deers wondering around, which I had never seen there until the day of our photo shoot, so I was really excited to see them. I think the photograph  of us lying in the grass is really nice, it felt really weird at the time and I swear I got about 20 insect bites from it, but it was definitely worth it.

These two photographs above are by far my favourites. The lighting in these photographs is very different to the others but it makes a lovely soft effect which I love. With the sun setting you start to get a halo effect with an orange light around the head, which really help to soften and make the colours more vibrant. In Richmond Park there are also lots of fallen tree trunks and branches, which we used quite as props and background pieces.

This was one the last photographs we took and it was a perfect end to an amazing photo shoot. The sunset was gorgeous with the long grass reflect the colour of the sky and the colours really popping. One of my favourite things to do is spend time cuddling and relaxing with my Fiancé and this photograph sums that up perfectly.

I am so grateful to Tina for the most amazing and relaxing photo shoot. She made up feel completely relaxed and chose some of the most amazing spot for some beautiful photographs. We both had an amazing evening and are over the moon with the final  photographs, so thank you Tina. Now I just need to work out which ones I want to print and frame, there are too much to choose from.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Let me know in the comments if you want to see more blog post on engagement and wedding planning. Hope you have a great weekend and see you monday.
