One of my favourite things to do on a sunny day is to go for a walk in the woods. I am lucky enough to have woods very close to where I live and I love it. The woods near me aren’t big enough to get lost in but I can still feel submerged in the trees, forgetting everything and surround myself with nature.
I find there are so many positives to escaping to the woods, I usually with go with my Fiancé or family, and I love doing it. I love seeing the sun scatter through the trees, leaving pools on light on the forest floor. I find the woods is an amazing place to relax and calm down, as it is just you being surrounded by natures garden, with the occasional dog walker. When autumn starts to draw in I love walking through all the leaves that crunch under you welly boots. You can even now start to see the trees are starting to change colour meaning autumn is nearly upon up, which leaves me so excited.
One thing I love to do is look up at the tree beaches and leaves that form a canopy over your head. When the sun comes out the light streams through the leaves leaving a beautiful vibrant tree canopy. Some of the trees in the woods are so old the branches turn and twist up towards the sky, making for beautiful photographs and sites. I love that wherever you look in the woods you never see the same view twice.
Having a walk in the woods allows me to think and take some time away from hustle and bustle of life, which can be very stressful at times. Sometimes in life you need to stop what you are doing and reflect on everything that has happened. I love doing this on walks as its one of the few times I am completely detached from the outside world and I always treasure these times.
In some ways a journey through the woods is like your journey through life. You will be confronted with obstacles and a choice of paths to go through, but the decision is always up to you. Sometimes you will deviate off these paths but then rejoin them later on. There is never a right or wrong route through life, you will always get to where you want to go as long as you believe in yourself and never give up. Ever so often I like to remind myself of that as everyone gets so tangled up in their lives that we sometimes need that time to step back and reflect.
Hope you enjoyed this different type of blog post, I wanted to share with you what I love to do when everything becomes very stressful and I need to escape for an hour or so. Do you enjoy walks in the woods? What do you do when you need to escape from too much stress? Have a lovely weekend and see you Monday.

Thank you so much x
Until you said about not seeing the same view twice in a woods, I hadn’t ever thought of that before. It’s so very true! I love going walking, but I’m yet to find a great woodland area. I have a feeling there is one not too far from me that has a blanket of bluebells in spring, but after reading this I’d love to see how it looks during the Autumnal months! 🙂

I think a lot of the time people walk through woods without thinking about whats surrounding them and you never notice this untill you write a blog post or take photographs. The woods will look completely different in all 4 seasons, which I think is really special so go out and explore the woodlands near you. I love going to the woods when the leaves start changing colours, its so pretty and colourful x
Great post! I love these kind of walks too, so peaceful. There’s a place called Wollaton Hall, near where to I live, it’s my favourite place – just beautiful.

Thank you. I really enjoy escaping to the woods and being surround by nature, theres something very calming and relaxing about it x
I am very jealous of your woods! I am stuck in a desert so there aren’t any sort of trees unless you count palm trees but those aren’t that shady or beautiful. This was such a fun post to read. I too adore the woods and love getting lost in a forest even if it isn’t that big. Using your imagination totally counts! (:
