How I Met My Fiancé

I can’t believe two years ago today the man of my dreams asked me out and it has been a whirl wind ever since. We are now engaged and in full swing of planning our wedding for next summer. I thought this would be the perfect time to announce I have decided to add a new section to my blog, which will be all about engagement, wedding and how to go about the whole planning procces of your special day. So what better way to start than sharing how I met my Fiancé.

2014-snow

So lets start from the beginning, I met my Fiancé at university as we were both part of the university sailing club. In our second years of uni we both moved into a house together with a bunch of friends, which was so much fun and one of the best decisions I made. We started dating on the 17th October 2014 and it felt so right as we both knew everything about one another and it felt natural being around each other. I feel like we were able to skip the first few awkward months of a relatiohship and jump straight into having loads of fun, going on dates and feeling comfortable spending loads of time together.

So 10 month after dating, on the 17th August 2014, my boyfriend proposed to me. It was one of the most nerve racking, emotional but amazing days of my life. My boyfriend has planned the whole thing out and I had no clue how he was going to propose, but I knew he was going to do it at some point as we had spoken about it a lot. He had hired an old 19th centry wooden boat called Emma and proposed on a river tour of the River Thames. He then took me out to a posh resturant in London to celebrate. I took me a while for the engagement to actually sink in as I was in complete shock.

As we were both in our second year of univeristy, when we got engaged, we felt it was best for us to wait two year till we got marrried, and I’m so glad we did. I have really enjoyed being engaged, it’s a next step in a relationship which most couples find very stressful as they are rushing to plan a wedding. As we have two years it has allowed us to plan our wedding at are own pace and it hasn’t been stressful at all. Maybe in 6 months time when final decisions need to be made the stress will be on but for the moment I am thoroughly enjoying engaged life.

So are getting married next summer and I am so excited for our wedding day to finally arrive. Hope you enjoyed this different type of blog post and you’re excited for my new wedding section coming to my blog. I have loads of exciting posts lined up and hopefully it will make the wedding planning process a bit easier and I can share my experience with you all.
