When it comes to autumn I am completely in love as it is one of my favourite seasons. I decided for today’s blog post I would do a mood board of everything I think make a beautiful autumnal home. There are so many different decoration pieces and homeware pieces out there that it can become very confusing on know what to buy and put into your home. The things I have chosen are really easy to get hold of and some of them are very inexpensive but will really bring you home to life. So grab a cuppa and lets begin.
Autumnal Wreath
When it comes to decorating your home for autumn there are two things that immediately pop into my mind pinecones and autumnal wreaths. An autumnal wreath can be put on your front door or hung up on a wall in your home. There are so many different ones to choose from, one of my favourite places to look is home sense or TKMax as they are beautiful but not too expensive.
Pinecone Garland
If you are looking for a piece to put on your table for display then a string garland is a great idea. I chose one with pinecones as this represents autumn to me.
Rose Gold Tea Light Holders and Lite Candles
When it comes to autumn I love tea lights and candles, as the evening get darker earlier and they make a home lovely and cosy. A beautiful way of making a tea light look nice is to buy some lovely tea light or candle holders. I love these rose gold geometric shapes glass tea light holders, they would look absolutely gorgeous in any home.
Cosy Blankets for the Sofa
When the weather starts getting colder and your house needs a spot of coziness I always make sure there is at least one blanket on or by our sofa. There is nothing nicer than being snuggled up under a soft warm blanket when it’s cold and dark outside. I have my eye on a few blankets in Matalan but there are so many different blankets to choose from.
Autumn Themed Duvet Cover and Pillow Set
I have always had the same two duvet sets all year round on my bed and I feel like I really need to start switching it up. We have a very white bedroom so a pop of colour through our bedding really brings the room to life. Autumn themed bedding is a beautiful way of adding a pop of autumn in your bedroom. George at Asda have a load of autumnal bedding that is really inexpensive but you can also find them in most store and homewear shops now.
Chunky Knit Blanket
I have recently come across the really chunky knitted blanket and love them. They look gorgeous on the bed but also on a sofa and come in all different colours and sizes. This is a great way of having an unconventional blanket that is so cosy and warm.
Fairy Lights
I couldn’t do this blog post without mentioning fairly lights as I think they are a key piece in a home. In the evening I always find the main overhead lights are very harsh so I like to put on some candles and fairy lights. It makes the home feel cosy but it also relaxes you as you’re not being blinded by strong light all the way up to bedtime. For my birthday I received a wall of fairy lights, which have been put up behind our bed and I love it. It’s a lovely way to light up our room whilst feeling cosy and nice.
So there are my Autumnal home inspirational piece for you if you are stuck on how to make your home feel cosy and autumnal. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and it gave you some ideas. Let me know bellow what you favourite item is and if you have any other piece you are currently loving.
