Beauty Favourites from 2016

2016 seemed to be the year I tried out loads of different beauty and skincare ideas, so I thought I would share with you my favourites.

Makeup

Fleur De Force Lipgloss (Written in the Stars)

I always find it difficult to get a lipgloss I love, they are usually really thick and sticky or very thin and have no ‘stay’ power. After a lot of searching, I found this lipgloss by Fleur de Force and fell in love. To start with its a beautiful ‘your lips but better’ pink that has a very creamy formula. It has a really good staying power, for a non-matt lipgloss and smells of vanilla. I now wear this on a daily basis when I want a natural lip.

Rimmel Kate Lipstick (demure)

I bought this lipstick back in August as I was looking for a nice dark nude. I really like the nice smell of Rimmel lipsticks, whereas some lipsticks can smell very chemically. This is a gorgeous matt, nude/brown colour. I also love the stay power of this lipstick, it will stay on until you take it off at night which I love. My perfect go-to lipstick.

Chanel Mascara

I have never been the one to spend a lot of money on mascara, as I hardly use them but I recently found one that I adore. Last year I received a sample of the new Chanel mascara and have been wearing it ever since. I like a natural look with mascara as I naturally have long, curly eyelashes. I love the fact that this mascara has a chunky wand, which allows you to coat all your eyelashes evenly but not make them look clumpy. It’s so quick, easy to apply and it dries really fast.

Fleur de Force Eyeshadow (Lunar Rose)

I was so impressed with this eyeshadow quad by Fleur de force as its amazing value for money. I love the way this eyeshadow palette has been cleverly thought about as each colour is so practical but also formulated beautifully. The eyeshadows are really creamy and blend really nicely too. You could easily take this eyeshadow from day to night, which I love.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

I naturally have quite thick eyebrows, so I never see the point of using eyebrow products until I discovered the new benefit brow range. I picked up the Brow pencil and was amazed at how much of a difference it makes. I never realised that I have quite a lot of gaps in my eyebrows and this wax pencil works amazingly. This product is so quick and easy to use, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Nails

Nails Inc Caviar Fast Drying Top Coat

I love using fast drying top coats as it is an absolute time saver and also means they normally don’t get marks in them from when they are drying. I have used OPI in the past but wanted to try out this Nails Inc one. I really like the formulation and the large brush. It takes about 30 minutes for the nail varnish to be completely dry and leaves you with a lovely shiny finish to your nail varnish. Whenever I paint my nails I now always use this as my top coat.

Skincare

Khiels Midnight Recovery

I have always struggled from very dry skin in the winter and I have never found a product that really helps deal with it. I had tried using a thicker moisturiser but my skin was still really dry. I was told that using an oil might help bring back moisture into my skin so I thought I would try the Midnight Recovery from Kheils, this was the best decision I made in 2016. I went into their store and they gave me a sample to try out and it has completely transformed my skin. All my dry patches have completely cleared up and my skin feels the best it ever has. You basically use this oil before your moisturiser in the evening. When you wake up in the morning, your skin feels completely refreshed and ready for the day ahead. This product is amazing.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

It’s not just my face that gets dry in the winter, my hands do to0. I have found that L’Occitane is the best product to use on my hands in the winter, due to the high level of shea butter in their hand creams. The shea butter hand cream has 25% shea butter and it is very thick. I love putting this on before I go to bed and letting it work its magic overnight. I  also love how soft this hand cream makes my hands feel and I can’t live without it.

So there are my 2016 Beauty favourites, which I love. Let me know bellow what your favourite was and if we share the same ones. Have a lovely rest of your day and I will see you Friday.
