During the Winter months, it can be easy to get quite down and not feel yourself, with the long nights and really cold weather. There are a few things I like to do to get myself out of the winter blues and thought I would share some of them with you.
Have a pamper session
It’s nice to once in a while take some time to yourself and have a pamper evening or hour. I find it a great way to relax and forget about everything that’s going on in your life. I love taking a bath with a Lush bath bomb and doing a hair mask. My current favourite hair mask is the Philip Kingsley Elasticized. I also love using a face mask depending on what my skin is needing. There are so many different things you can do to pamper or just treat yourself.
Immerse yourself in a book or movie
I love reading but never really find the time to do it. Sometimes I will go to bed 30 minutes earlier than usual and just read a few chapters of my book. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in a great story. If you are not much of a reader then why not watch one of your favourite ‘pick me up’ films or a new film you have been meaning to watch. I love the fact films can completely change your mood and can really lift your spirits.
Make your home feel cosy
You need to feel comfortable and cosy in your home before you can completely relax. I love closing all the blinds, putting on my PJ’s and lighting a candle. Candles can really help to make a home feel cosy and also smell amazing. I always pop on some fluffy socks and wrap myself in a fluffy blanket so I am lovely and warm.
Writing
To clear my mind I find writing whatever is bothering my down really helps. When I am really worried about something writing it down or talking to someone really helps. This Christmas I received a Positivity Book, which is full of quotes to lift your spirit and help bring some positivity into your life. I find this book really useful and also appreciate life a little bit more.
I find these few things really help me get through the winter months when the weather is really gloomy and you wish Spring was already here. Hopefully, these will help you too if you are getting the winter blues. Have a lovely weekend and I will see you again on Monday.
