Wedding Flowers

This weeks post is all about your wedding venue flowers and also touching on table decorations. When you go for your initial meeting with your florist you will put together a selection of flowers and foliage which reflect your theme, dress and also the venue. Once your bouquet flowers have been chosen then you can dispersed these flowers throughout the venue to link all your venues together. I’ve broken this blog post down into two sections to make it easier to understand, so let’s get into it.

Ceremony Flowers

Whether you are going for a religious or civil ceremony your flowers will be very similar and will depend on what you are looking for. The chair that face the aisle will typically have flowers attached to the chair. This helps to bring attention to where the aisle is and also adds a lovely pop of colour and softness to this area of the space. You could also line the aisle with petals too, if you have a flower girl she would be doing this job anyway. As the reach the end of the aisle it’s also nice to have something either at the alter or either side of the end of the aisle. The image on the right is a lovely dome of flowers and foliage that really soften and brighten up the room you are getting married in.

trees in church

If you are lucky enough to get married in a building with very high ceiling or a grand cathedral and are looking for a gorgeous way to decorate your ceremony why not look into having trees. I know it sounds really odd but if you take the time to pick out quite sparse trees with maybe some flowers in it then the outcome can be stunning.

Wedding Breakfast

Where ever you decide to have your wedding breakfast flowers will really help to show the theme of your wedding and bring some life and colour to the space. I have put together a collection of different ways you can incorporate flowers and foliage into your table decorations.

The most important rule for your table decorations is they either need to be bellow or above someone eye level. This way you can ensure that everyone can see each other, making conversation easier and allowing everyone to chat to each other. With this in mind you can incorporate flowers however you like.

For low table arrangement bottles, vases and lanterns make for great vessels to hold flowers in or around. You can pick out certain flowers or colours from your bouquet to great a colour scheme through the whole room either making it look unison on each table or adding some difference variations around the room. You will find if you add some foliage (leaves) into your flower arrangements the price will drop as foliage is a lot cheaper than flowers.

If you are wanting more of a statement piece then you can have a much large display of flowers. Tall flower arrangement will normally be held up by a candle stand, or something similar in shape and then had flowers incorporated into it. With a tall flower arrangment your find it will make an amazing impact the moment you walk into the room because they will be around you eye level when you are stand up.

If you are currently choosing your wedding flowers then Pinterest is a great way to gather some inspiration and show your florist what you are looking for. Go take a look at last week blog post all about wedding bouquets as that also part of your wedding flowers. I will cover table decorations in further detail a bit later on so keep an eye out for that. Hope you had a lovely weekend and I will see you very soon.
