Once you have sorted your wedding dress, wedding flowers and have an idea of your theme and colour scheme you now are ready to sort out your bridesmaid dresses. There are lots of different style and colours to choose from and I found it quite confusing choosing what I wanted them to wear so hopefully this will help make it a bit easier for you.
Style
When you first start looking for bridesmaid dresses its good to have an idea of what you want to go for. Are you looking for long or short dresses? If you want your bridesmaid to look very elegant and smart then a long dress will suit this idea. If you are looking for more of a relaxed and summery look then why not look at short dresses. The best way to start is going is either looking online or going into either bridal shops or department store and seeing what catches your eye. You then have something to go from.
You may find your wedding dress and wedding theme will steer you in a certain direction when choosing the dress style. I found I was looking for a very simple, fitted and elegant dress for my bridesmaids, which a lot of the high street shops didn’t cater for. Why not take you maid of honour and your bridesmaids and make a day of shopping for their dresses.
One thing to keep in mind is do you want them all in the same style of dress. There are now dresses that can be tied in lots of different ways, meaning you can have all your bridesmaids in the same colour but they can choose the style of dress they want, just by changing the way the tie the top part up.
Colour
When it comes to the colour of the dresses you have a few options. If you want everything to look very uninformed and flow nicely together then you could look at having all your bridesmaids and maid of honour in the same colour. This looks so gorgeous in photographs and it also really makes you colour scheme obvious to the guests. You will need to keep in mind that some skin tones won’t suit certain colours, so try on different coloured dresses with all your bridesmaids before choosing the final colour is a good idea.
Another gorgeous way of adding some variation in colour is to have two different or more shades of the same colour. This can look so pretty and also give your bridesmaids a choice of which shade they want to wear. Having mix match dresses is another way of having a bridal party where everyone can bring in their own personalities through the dresses they are wearing. You could choose a certain colour and then the bridesmaid could choose dresses in the colour range.
Maid of Honour
Finaly lets talk about your maid of honour and how you can make her outfit stand out from the rest. You might decide you want your bridal party to be in the same colour but the have the maid of honour in a different style. This would then make your her stand out from the rest of the bridal party. Another way to give your maid of honour some importance is to have her dress a slightly different colour to your bridesmaids.
At times you might find it really stressful trying to find something all your bridal party likes but it will be worth it in the end I promise. If there anything you still want to know then leave a comment bellow. If you haven’t read lasts weeks blog post all about Wedding Flowers then why not take a look. Have a lovely week.
