Pre-Wedding Nerves

Once the countdown has begun then things start to feel very real and the realisation you are getting married in the next month begins. Pre wedding nerves are definitely a thing and people experience them very differently. When you’re so close to your wedding day you will find there are a lot of thoughts racing around your head and it can become quite stressful if you are not on top of everything. My wedding is just around the corner so I am currently going through this stage and thought I would share with you some tips on how to keep pre wedding nerves at bay and enjoy the time you have left.

Don’t Leave Thing to the Last Minute

Being prepared and organised will really help you stay on top of what needs doing in the last weeks leading up to your wedding day. I found making lists of things that need doing and putting a deadline for them means I know what needs doing by then so it hasn’t turned into a huge panic so far.

Stop Worrying About Other People

You have most probably heard this loads of time but the wedding day is all about you and your partner, not anyone else. I found I was worrying about other people; whether they would be able to hear me say my vows, if everyone would like the food. Stop worrying about all the small things, people are coming to the wedding to celebrate you getting married, so make the wedding a celebration of your love not what everyone will want it to be like. Once you realise that you don’t need to worry about everyone else on the wedding day, it will release some of the pressure you’re feeling, trust me.

Take Some Time Out

Remember to take some time out for yourself, even in the last few days before your wedding day. It’s important to take yourself out of wedding planning and immerse yourself into something completely different, otherwise you will drive yourself crazy. Why not organise to go out with some friends for a drink, have a pamper evening, go to the cinema with your partner. You need that break once in a while and you will find you’re more productive after taking some time away.

Enjoys The Last Time Left

You will find your wedding day will creep up on you and be gone by the time you know it. Try and enjoy the time you have left but also live in the moment on your wedding day. You don’t want to be really nervous in the morning and then forget parts of your day because you were really nervous and scared. Relax, take a few breaths and think to your self I’m only doing this once so let’s make the most out of it and enjoy every second I can. If you are nervous about the day then try not to think about it, think about seeing your family again or being able to finally wear your wedding dress.

If you are getting nervous as your wedding day becomes closer or you know you will be a bit of a nervous right before your wedding day then I hope this blog post has helped in some way. If you have any other tips or pieces of advice then please share them.
