September Makeup Loves

I love switching up my makeup when Autumn arrives. I tend to reach for darker lips and more of a warm, smoky eye, whilst still keeping a natural base. I have discovered some new brands and makeup products recently, so it’s also a bit of a first impression for a few of these products. So go grab a cuppa and enjoy.

Makeup Revolution London – Beyond Flawless Ultra Eyeshadows

I love experimenting with new eye looks and this palette is my favourite. Now that Autumn is upon us I have moved away from the corals & pinks and tend to wear more bronze & brown tones, which I am currently loving. Wearing brown eye shadow brings out the blue in my eyes. I love how pigmented these eyeshadows are and how easy they are to blend. It’s so easy to create a soft day time look, right through to a dramatic smokey evening eye all from one palette, which is one of the reasons I bought this last year. I love all the colours in this palette and they are perfect for the Autumn/Winter months.

Bobbi Brown – Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Dusty Mauve

Next onto something very different for me. I have always been a powder eyeshadow girl, I have never really been interested in a cream shadow stick until now. I love how pigmented this shadow stick is and how easy it is to blend, allowing you to create a really soft subtle look. I love using this as a base on my eyes and then adding a darker powder eyeshadow onto to help define the crease of my eye. This colour is the perfect taupe/brown that adds some warmth to your eye and isn’t too overpowering in colour.

Bobbi Brown – Art Stick Liquid Lip in English Rose

I love wearing a matt lip in Autumn, whilst keeping the rest of my makeup quite Dewey and my base very natural. I recently discovered this liquid lip by Bobbi Brown and was so surprised how much I like it. I find that a lot of liquid lips, that dry down matt, can be very drying whereas this one isn’t. I am in love with this rosy red shade, it allows for a bold lip without having to go for a very strong burgundy red lip. The only problem I have with this product is the application. You basically squeeze the tube and the product comes out through a hole in the top, which means applying it is quite difficult. I would recommend either applying it with your finger or even a lip brush.

Max Factor Colour – Elixir Lipstick in Mulberry 685

My final autumnal love is a lipstick by Max Factor, which I just can’t get enough off. I love wearing a red lip in the winter and this one is just gorgeous. This colour is more of a deep burgundy red with a shot of shimmer through it, which make it a real statement look. I love wearing a natural base and a subtly eye and then let this lipstick talk for itself. This lipstick has a slight shine too it but not as much as a gloss would have. I find the Max Factor Elixir lipsticks are so comfortable to wear all day and don’t stain your lips, which is a massive plus. This lipstick is well worth taking a look at if you are on the hunt for a stunning deep red.

Let me know what your new key pieces in your makeup bag are now that Autumn is upon us. I’m still on the hunt for a more wine coloured lipstick so let me know if you have any recommendations.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post and have a lovely weekend!
