Favourite Things About Autumn

If you can’t already tell, this blog post might make it clearer, Autumn (along with Winter) is my favourite season. There are so many things I love that I thought I would share a few with you.

Birthday

One of favourite parts of Autumn has to be my Birthday, and it’s made even more special as it’s the same month as my Husband Birthday and our dating anniversary, so it’s turned into a month of celebrations, which I love.

Crisp Cold Morning

I love waking up to a cold crisp morning, there’s something so refreshing about them. Crisp cold mornings all tend to have a blue sky, which will immediately make my day and also makes everything look so pretty.

Wrapping up warm for a long walk

Wrapping up in my favourite coat and huge scarf then venturing out into the cold is one of my favourite feelings. I make myself into a little cocoon that not even the cold can enter, until I overheat, which tends to happen a lot. My parents use to always take us on long walks, especially around Christmas, and I remember loving getting home from a cold walk and warming up by a log fire, it’s the best feeling in the world. I still go on long walks occasionally with my family but more often with my Husband, which is lovely. I always take my camera on long walks so it tends to turn into a fashion shoot, opps!

Conkers

When I see the first conker on the ground, Autumn for me has arrived. Ever since I was a small kid I remember stuffing my pockets full of smooth, shiny conkers and I still do it to this day. My mum use to put all our conkers in glass vases and put them on the windowsill and from then on conkers have always been a symbol of Autumn and I love them.

Cosy Night in

One of my favourite things to do, when its cold and dark out, is to make our flat really cosy and snuggly. My perfect cosy night starts with lighting a Candle, with my current favourite Apple Blossom by DW. I then make myself a bubble bath, this is a great way to relax after a long hard week, I usually watch some youtube or just sit back and relax. After my bath I will get into a cosy pair of Pyjamas and then snuggle up on the sofa with my husband and watch a movie. I would easily take a cosy night in over a night out, maybe I’m a little old lady at heart but I love it.

Lighting my Favourite Candles

As i mentioned above I love lighting candles as they are a great way to completely change the mood in your home and they make it smell incredible. There is something so comforting and mesmerising about watching a flame, maybe thats why I get so excited about a log fire in the Winter months. I will usually burn candles with fresh scents, I don’t like having my flat overpowered by a scent, I’d rather have a gradual smell that greets you, rather than one that knocks you off your feet. Everyone has their own preferences on candles and these are just mine.

Switching up my skincare

When Autumn comes around one of the first things I do is switch up my skincare and pull out some of my favourite hydrating products again. I find during the winter my skin can become quite dry around my forehead so this year I am going to hydrate my skin to try and prevent this.

Hopefully you enjoyed reading about my favourite parts of Autumn. I would love to know what you love doing  with the nights drawing in and days getting colder.

I have also just uploaded a video to my youtube channel Our Little Honeymoon, so if you are interested in seeing where we went on our honeymoon then why not go take a look and subscribe.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post and have a lovely weekend!

Ahh these are all so true. I love nothing more than rugging-up in my warmest clothes for a cold day walk where everything is misty and pretty. I also love coming back from a cold day somewhere and making myself a hot drink, I drink soo many hot drinks in the colder weather haha. Such a lovely post, makes me sad to be Australian as our Autumn is truly gone and summer is on the way.
