A Few Ways to Feel Festive this Season

I can’t believe how close Christmas is now and I thought it would be nice to share with you some of my favourite ways to feel festive. This year I have found I have had moments where I didn’t feel festive at all but by doing a few things, listed bellow, I immediately felt Festive and so excited for Christmas.

Putting up your Christmas Tree

One of the first things I do when Christmas comes round is putting up the tree. Putting up your tree and Christmas decorations helps make your home feel Christmasy and cosy. I love coming home and turning on the fairy lights, it makes the living room feel so magical.

Fir Tree Candles

If you have followed me for a while then you will know I am obsessed with candles, especially at Christmas. I’m not very keen on really spicy, traditional Christmas Candles so I tend to go for more fresh scents. My favourites are Fir Tree (The White Company one smells amazing), Frankincense and Balsam. I will always have at least one candle burning and it makes the whole flat smell and feel so Christmasy.

Organising Dates to see Family

Over the Christmas period we always try and see family and close friends. For me Christmas is all about spending time with loved ones. I love planning my days out over Christmas, it makes the festive season last a bit longer and means you can fit in everyone. I find the 5 days between boxing day and new years eve feel a bit weird so seeing family and fiends is a great way to make Christmas last that bit longer.

Watching your Favourite Christmas Movie

I love sitting down in the evening and putting on my favourite Christmas movie, its a great way to make you feel festive and Christmasy. My top Christmas movies have to be Arthur Christmas, Elf, The Polar Express and Prep & Landing. There are so many others I love too but these are the ones I watch at least twice over the Christmas period.

Go on a walk

I love going on walks, even if its a short one. Over Christmas my favourite time to go out is when the sun is setting, everyone then has their Christmas lights on and it looks so festive. There is something so nice about seeing other people’s Christmas trees in the windows or lights hanging from peoples houses.

Making Festive Drink

There are so many festive drinks to choose from, whether its a festive Starbucks coffee, a Christmas Cocktail or Mulled Wine, there is something everyone will enjoy. I love making mulled wing, Roasting Chestnuts and enjoying them with loved ones. If you love the sound of mulled wine but don’t drink alcohol then why not make a Christmas punch instead.

Wrapping up Christmas Presents

I normally wrap all my Christmas presents on one day and make an afternoon out of it. I love sitting down with a Christmas movie or songs on, grab a few different wrapping papers and spend the afternoon wrapping everyones gifts. For me Christmas is all about giving and see those smiles when they open up your presents on Christmas day. If you don’t have time to sit down and wrap up all your presents at once then why not do a couple every night instead.

Hopefully you enjoyed reading this blog post. Let me know what you like to do to feel festive. If you are still trying to sort out Christmas gifts then why not take a look at my Christmas gifts guide; For him, For Her, Beauty Edition. My stocking Gift guide will be going up Friday so keep and eye out for that.

Merry Christmas!
