With the New Year here, a fresh new year lies ahead of us. I personally love starting a new year, making goals and looking forward to what it may bring. Before I was a blogger I use to hate the new year, I loved Christmas and January but I always seemed to feel very lost. There are lots of different things you can do to start the year feeling productive and making the most of a clean slate.
Making Goal/Resolution
In December I love reflecting on the past year and see what I would like to improve upon in the following year or any changes I would like to make. I find making goals is better then resolutions, as having a goal is something you can work towards whereas a resolution feels like you have to do it by the end of a year. My goals this year are a mixture of personal and blogging goal, you can see a few here. Setting some goals will help keep you motivated and determined to make this year the best yet.
Tie up Any Loose Ends
With the new year here it’s time to tie up all the loose ends. From to-do list’s through to a project you might of never got round to finishing. By completely all those things you can then start out fresh without having to look back.
Work towards your dream
No matter where you are in your life, having dreams and aspiration to work towards is one of the best ways to keep motivated. Personally I always have something I want to work towards, it keep me going even on the hardest of days knowing I am one step closer to reaching my dreams. Even the smallest of milestones will eventually get you to your dreams you just have to keep on pushing, you will get there!
Spruce up your Home
I always find it sad seeing the Christmas decorations come down, so I will usually do it new years eve, meaning the house is all fresh and ready for the new year. In January why not switch up the accessories you have in your home, buy a few new pieces you love, making your home feel updated. Buying some flowers or a house plant is a great way to bring some life back into your home and help beat the winter blues.
Get Motivated
January can leave you feeling quite unmotivated and unproductive but why not take the new year and use it to your advantage. A new year can mean so many things and there are so many opportunities lying ahead of you so grab them with two hands and don’t let go. If you find it hard to get motivated then why not try some of these things: change up your working space, take a mini break to clear your head, work out what really motivates you. I find that the new year is a great time for me to channel all my productivity and motivation to make my blog even better than last year but also help develop myself as a person too.
Hopefully this will give you some ideas on how to start your year the best possible way! Is there anything you do at the beginning of the year to make sure you have the best possible start to the year?

Gorgeous photos! Loved this post so much, I make sure to buy a fresh new diary at the start of every year (it’s like my new year treat) and having that is the starting point to my motivation :’)
