Date Night Edit

With Valentines day just round the corner I thought I would do a Date Night Edit. This blog post will include a bit of beauty, jewellery & fashion along with some of my favourite date night essentials.

Beauty

Starting off with beauty and a sexy lip. When I want to feel really confindent in myself then a red lip is the way forward. My current favourite is the Ted Baker Tinted Lip Balm in dark. Don’t let the tinted lip balm name fool you, this is very pigmented and lasts for hours whilst keeping your lips feeling hydrated. For me this is the perfect red as it has pink undertones, rather then more of a orange undertone. If you wanted a lipstick that really makes you feel confident and a bit sexy then I would definitely wear this on a date night.

For the eyes I normally go for a subtle eyeshadow with a more bold mascara, but not clumpy. I always reach for the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, it gives my lashes the perfect of volume while also defining them. I love that this mascara is also jet black so it really makes your eyes pop, you could even wear this mascara on it’s own for a more subtle look. Moving onto nails and I always think a nude looks so sophisticated and elegant so my choice has to be Essie Nail Lacquer Ballet Slippers. This colour is the perfect nude. It is very natural and the perfect shade of subtle pinkI also love the longevity of this nail varnish, it last 5 days without chipping which is brilliant for a non gel nail varnish.

The final beauty essential for me has to be a spritz of perfume and my all time favourite is Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede Cologne. It’s actually the one I wore on my wedding day so it holds so many memories for me and my husband. A fragrance can be so powerful, taking you back to the times you have worn it before. I always wear Jo Malone perfume on dates and special occasions.

Jewellery

I don’t usually wear jewellery on a daily basis, expect for my wedding & engagement ring, so its nice to wear something on a date. Popping on some lovely earrings always makes me feel a bit more confident and special. The Ted Baker Stud Earnings are gorgeous with a swarovski crystal set in a silver clasp. They look stunning when they  catch the light but are so comfortable to wear all night.

Another piece of jewellery I love to wear is a necklace, they can really complete a look. This beautiful necklace is made from gold and has a lovely precious stone set incorporated into the pendant. This necklace is quite small but it really makes an outfit feel timeless and look so elegant. If you wanted you could go for more of a statement necklace if you have a very plain outfit or a more delicate one, like the one I chose.

The Perfect clutch

The last Date Night essential is a clutch bag with my favourite being Claudia Canova Clutch Bag with Gold Hardware. This clutch bag is perfect for when you want to take a few items with you. This clutch has a faux leather exterior with gold hard wear and a very delicate gold chain, so you can wear it over the shoulder too. I love how simple this clutch is with a touch of gold on the side.

So that’s my Date Night Edit. I would love to know what pieces are an essential to your date night look.
