Everyone has points during winter were their mood can drop so I thought I would share with you a few ways to improve your mood. Everyone will have different ways to improve how they are feeling but if you are stuck then maybe try a few of these out.
Taking some time out
If always find if I am in a bad mood it’s normally best for me to stop what I am doing and take a break, whether that it’s 10 mins or 1 hour, how ever long you need. I find taking a break and doing something else allows me to calm down and then come back to the problem or situation with a clear and calm head. I also like to go to a space or room where its just me, if i’m in a bad or low mood the last thing I need is being asking if I am ok, normally I just need some space.
Go for a walk
A great way to clear your mind and improve your mood immediately is going for a walk, even if it’s raining outside grab an umbrella, get on some waterproof shoes and go for a little walk. It doesn’t have to be a long walk it could just be 10 minute and it’s amazing how much better you feel afterwards. If I am feeling low at the weekend then I will normally go for a walk with my Husband, sometime its nice to go out with someone.
Read a book
If you don’t fancy the sound of going for a walk then why not sit down and read a book or your favourite magazine. This will allow you to completely immerse yourself in a different activity. I love sitting down a reading a book for 30 minutes, it helps me clear my head and really improves my mood too.
Fresh Flowers
Having fresh flowers dotted around your home will help improve your mood without you realising. There has been a lot of research into how flowers really help improve your mental health and therefore improve your mood. I love having spray carnations, there are so many different colour to choose from and they last for nearly a month, which is amazing compared to most flowers.
Pamper Yourself
If it has been a very stressful day and I know my mood has suffered from this then having a little pamper session will always improve my mood. I love starting off with a bath and pouring some bath salts in. My bath salts have dried lavender them, making my bath smell incredible and it really helps me relax. I also love putting on a face mask and my current go to is the Sanctuary Spa Radiance 1 minute Flash Facial. This face mask is so quick, perfect if you don’t have a lot of time, and it leaves your skin looking so glowy. When my skin looks great my mood immediately improves with it, meaning face masks are a life and mood saver for me.
Sleep
Getting a good nights sleep is one of the best ways to ensure you are in a good mood. A good nights sleep is more about quality of sleep rather then how long you sleep for. You could sleep for 10 hours but have a very restless night, which could result in your mood being quite low due to being very tired. I always like to use a pillow spray before I go to sleep, my favourite is by This Works. It helps me fall asleep really quickly and I sleep right through to the morning, which means I always wake up bright eyed and in a good mood.
Hopefully this will help you if you want some quick easy ways to improve your mood. We all have points where we are feeling quite low so its good to know a few techniques and things you can do to try and help you feel a bit better and happier. Keep your spirit up!
Have a good weekend!

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed reading it. I do too and when it’s sunny it makes it even better x
Eee this reaally reminds me to catch up properly on my sleep. I’ve been waking up at 5am lately for my classes and it’s really killing me because I’m not going to bed early enough to counteract it. I need to get a good night’s sleep and I think that’ll deifnitely improve my mood a lot!
