When it comes to skincare I am very picky at trying out new products. As you may know I have sensitive skin so was I am always very fearful of trying out new products and getting a reaction. Over the year my skin and become less sensitive and I feel more comfortable with giving new products a try. Recently I have tried quite a few new products and thought I would share with you my favourite skincare brands. Some of them are new finds whereas others are brands I have loved for years.
Oskia
One of the most recent Skincare brand discoveries is Oskia . I came across this brand last year, when I decided to switch up my skincare products to better suite my skin. I was recommended to try the Renaissance Cleansing Gel and Renaissance Mask, both of which I have fallen in love with. Oskia as a brand have so many incredible products, which are quite pricey, but do wonders for your skin. So many bloggers rave about this brand and I can really see why.
Firstly I love that Oskia is a British brand, with their products produced in Wales. Oskia have done a lot of research into the ingredients they use in their products and use Bio-available nutrients instead of pure ingredients. For me when it comes to skincare I would rather spend a little more money on a product that is amazing for your skin and formulated to target your areas of concern then pay less money for a product that has harmful ingredients. I always do some research into a product before buying it usung online reviews and I tend to buy all my Oskia skincare products from Space NK, the staff are so helpful and non bias.
La Roche-Posay
When it comes to controlling congested skin that is oily and prone to spots then I always reach for La Roache-Posay products, with my favourites being the Effaclar Duo (+) and Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel. The Effaclar range is tailor-made for oily blemish prone skin and has worked wonders on mine. I tend to only get a few spots a month but found they would take forever to go and always scared, especially on my chin. Ever since using the Effaclar Duo (+) and Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel the scaring on my chin has massively improved and i now only get the occasional spot and it is gone within a few days.
Again La Roache-Posay is pricey but the products really do live up to the hype and my expectations. There are many different ranges tailored to different skin types and concerns. I also own the Antheliso Anti Shine SPF 50, after hunting for a factor 50 suncream that wasn’t really thick. This skin cream is a cream texture, like a thick face cream, that sinks into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave you skin feeling greasy and clogged up.
I love that all of La Roche-Posay products have been formulated so that anyone can use them, even if you have sensitive skin, but they are still able to target your skin concerns without affecting the quality of product. La Roche-Posay ensure all their products are suitable for sensitive skin by making sure non of them have parabens, fragrance, and soap and have naturally minimal rich Thermal Spring Water in them.
The Ordinary
The Ordinary is a skincare brand that surfaced a few years ago and everyone has gone crazy for their products and I can definitely see why. The first product I picked up was the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, which I have actually just rediscovered again and fallen in love with it all over again. When your skin is really struggling with hydration all you need to do it pop this product on morning and night and it really helps clear up any dry patches and keeps your skin looking and feeling hydrated.
The ordinary is a brand I absolutely love, their products are simple, effective and really affordable too. This brand has built its reputation on having products that have no frills, meaning you need to know a bit about skincare before purchasing their products. Once you understand what all their skincare products do and how simple their formulations and ingredient list is, you will then be amazed at how inexpensive they are.
Once you start reading up about The Ordinary by Deciem, then you really understand how much they have stripped back their products so that the only ingredients are ones that are great for your skin. The Ordinary products are free of:
“parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, animal oils, benzalkonium chloride, coal tar dyes, formaldehyde, mercury, oxybenzone”
This then gives you a piece of mind that you are purchasing products that are great for your skin and won’t damage of harm it. Unfortunately for a lot of skincare products we don’t full know what is in them or really understand what is and isn’t good for us. If you are really into your skincare and know exactly what products your skin needs, then do check out this brand, every product I have tried from them I have loved and have not regretted.
As you can see not all amazing skincare brands come with a huge price tag, sometimes it takes a lot of searching but there are real gem brands out there. I would love to know what your favourite skincare brands are or if you share some favourites with me.
Have a lovely week!
