The Perfect Transitional Bag

When it comes to handbags I definitely have my favourites that I use time and time again. I think you always need a classic black handbag, whether its cross body or tote, they are just so versatile and sophisticated. I use a black handbag for work and another one at the weekend so I thought it was about time to mix it up a bit and add a bit of colour into my handbag collection.

I like to add colour to my outfits in subtle ways, so this handbag seemed perfect for that. I picked up the Carvela Darla Structured Tote Bag  in Wine and i’m obsessed with it. I love the colour of this bag, is a lovely rich burgundy that really adds a focal point to any outfit, without being over the top. For me a tote bag is the perfect size, you can take it on a day out and fit everything in but equally you can take it on a date a still look sophisticate as it’s not too big.

Looking at the bag in more detail the first thing you can tell is that all the hard wear is in gold, which for me is a bit of a change. I love wearing silver jewellery so that means a lot of my bags have silver hardware to match, but mixing metals is really in at the moment and I actually quite like the look. The attention to detail on this bag is amazing, it has little gold feet at the bottom so your bag doesn’t get dirty when you put it down. They have also designed the handle beautifully, the handle seamlessly joins onto the body with the stunning gold hardware.

This bag also comes with a shoulder strap, which I don’t think I will use, but it’s great to have just in case I wanted that option. This bag has a lovely structure to it, I hate having bags that collapse on themselves when you put them down. The handles are also rounded making the bag easy to carry and comfortable, when you have lots of items in it. This bag is made from faux leather but has a lovely grain and softness to it, unlike a lot of cheaper faux leather bags, making it look expensive.

I love styling this handbag with so many different outfits from a cute dress to a more relaxed jumper and jean look. I normally keep the rest of my outfit toned down in colour and let the handbag to the talking.

What’s your favourite handbag is at the moment, i’m always on the hunt for a new tote bag. If you have any fashion blog post ideas you would like to see next then let me know bellow.

Have a lovely weekend!
