Cosy Rituals to Brighten up a Winter’s Day

With the weather still being cold, but wishing for spring to come, I thought I would share with you some of the cosy rituals I like to do during an old winters day.

Beauty

Something I will wear everyday without a fail is perfume. I have a few in my collection so I normally choose something to reflect my mood or the weather. With spring just around the corner I like wearing something quite light and fruity, my favourite being Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede. For me fragrance holds so many memories, especially my wedding day, and I love how I feel wearing this fragrance. My second favourite fragrance for a winters day is Zoella Snowella body mist, the gorgeous notes of Peony and mint make it such a cosy scent.

No winters day is complete with out a bath, at the end of the day. It’s the best feeling getting into a hot bath when its freezing outside. One of my favourite bath types includes the Epson Bath Salts and a Lush Bath Bomb, can’t get much better than that. If I fancy something a bit more luxurious when I will have a bath with just bath Oils, my current favourite is The White Company Relax Bath Oil.

Lifestyle

I love wearing a Chunky Knit Jumper when its cold outside, even if I’m not leaving the house, it keeps me warm and so cosy. Having a few chunky jumpers in your wardrobe is an essential to me. They are great for layering up whilst still looking like you made an effort. For me when it’s really cold I tend to wear lots of layers to keep warm, so having a knitted jumper means I can throw it over all my other layers and its also great for when you are going on long cold walks too.

Homemade Soup is one of things I love making during the winter. It’s so quick and easy, I normally buy a pack of mixed root veg, peel and chop all the veg up and shove it all into a pan to cook until the veg are tender. The great things is you can put whatevery you want in your soup and you know exactly what is in it. I normally make the soup just before lunch so it’s ready for lunch time. Making soup is something my mum alway use to do and I am now doing myself.

One of my favourite things to do is to wrap up warm and go for a walk whether thats on my own, with my husband or even with my family. There is something so nice about going for a walk when its a crisp or snowy winters day ( like it was last week. ) I normally wrap myself up with plenty of layers, chuck on some Timberland Boots and head outside. Sometimes its nice to embrace the cold weather and go out and enjoy it, you always know you can go home and warm up afterwards. I find if I stay inside for more than two days I get cabin fever so it’s good to get some fresh air.

My last ritual has to be lots of Blankets, Throws & Netflix. I have at least four blankets or throws dotted around our flat so there is always something I can snuggle underneath if I get cold. One of my favourite things to do is snuggle on the sofa under a blanket watching The Crown (completely obsessed with this show) on Netflix. We don’t have a TV so Netflix or Amazon Video is the next best things, there are so many movies and tv shows to watch, making it brilliant for a cosy night in.

What are you favourite things to do on a winters Day? Do you prefer having a cosy day in watching Netflix or going for an adventure somewhere? I have also just uploaded a new video to Youtube of my Favourite Winter Outfit for the Snow. If you fancy taking a look then click here.
