The Lip Edit

I love discovering new lip products whether thats a scrub, lipstick or even a lip balm. Whenever I am wearing something on my lips I feel like my look is complete, even on a very minimal makeup day.

Lip treatments

I always use a lip balm at least twice a day and I have found the Glossier Balm Dotcom original is the best at keeping my lips hydrated the longest and stops my lips from flaking in the cold weather. I have tried a lot of other lip balms in the past and most of them have left my lips feeling sore and very dry whereas the Balm dotcom stays on your lips for at least 6 hours, even after food and drink. The great thing about the Glossier Balm Dotcom is there are 6 flavours to choose from, two of them being tinted, perfect for an easy lip whilst knowing your lips will be hydrated.

Another product I swear by for keeping my lips smooth and soft is Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Jullips. The first thing I love about this product is it tastes like mint chocolate chips and you can eat it, it’s basically just a sugar scrub for you lips. I love how natural and basic this lip scrub is, no harsh chemicals, and its simply a great product. I usually apply this when my lips are feeling a bit flakey, or just need some TLC, and pop it on just before getting into the shower and scrub my lips for about 30 sec to 1 minute and then rinse it off in the shower, obviously if you wanted you could just lick it off your lips. I love how soft my lips feel after using this product, I usually apply a lip balm afterwards just to hydrate my lips.

Lipsticks

I think having a nude lipliner is essential for any make-up bag, you can use it to line your lips, use as a base under a sheer lipstick, or just wear it on it’s own. My favourite has to be Rimmel london Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Eastend Snob (063). I love how creamy this lip liner is and it comes like a lipstick, instead of a pencil, which I love as I feel i’m then not wasting any product. This colour is my perfect lip colour so it works great when I want to even out my lip colour under a sheer lipstick like the Channel Rouge Coco Shine. If you are looking for a high end lip liner then the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Pillow Talk is another great one.

Moving onto lipstick and I have quite a collection but one of my favourites is the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 54 Boy. This is my only high end lipstick, I’m sure they will be a few more in the future, and I actually bought it for my wedding day and love it. I love how glossy and hydrating this lipstick is. It’s quite a sheer pink with a shot of shimmer running through it, so I tend to wear the Rimmel london Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Eastend Snob underneath it for a more solid colour. Even though this is quite a sheer colour it lasts for absolutely hours, I only re-applied it once on my wedding day and you couldn’t tell it has started to come off. If you are wanting to invest in a high end lipstick then definitely check out the Rough Coco Shine range at Chanel, they have a great selection of colours and the lipsticks are just gorgeous.

The final lip product is a lip tint I discovered in December and it’s the Ted Baker Tinted Lip Balm in Dark (Red.) I have never used a tinted lip balm that looks like a lipstick. This product is gorgeous from the rose gold packaging to the stunning red colour, I have now found my perfect red lip. I love that the tinted lip balm has quite a small nib making application really easy and quick. This products is also really hydrating, which I absolutely love, without having a really glossy finish. Overall I am really impresses with the Ted Baker Tinted Lip Balm and they look stunning in photos too.

So those are just a few of my favourite lip products. Let me know if you would like me to go through my lipstick collection.

Have a lovely weekend!

Steph x
