With May already here it’s time for my April Favourites. I tried a few new products last month and also fell back in love with some old favourite too.
With the weather in England slowly heating up, and one heatwave having arrived, my skincare pieces are now starting to change and adapt for the warmer weather. One major change to my skincare routine in my moisturiser. During the summer last year I used the Dr Dennis Gross Hyluronic Marine Oil-free Moisture Cushion and it has now made it back into my skincare routine. I love how light and hydrating this moisturiser is, if you suffer from combination/oily skin then you need to check this product out. This moisturiser has a gel consistency and sinks into the skin really fast, which means I love wearing it on hot days as it feels lovely and soothing on the skin. This products was quite pricey at £55 but I think it’s well worth that price. You only need the smallest amount so this product will last me ages. I am very picky when it comes to skincare, and try not to spend a ton of money, so for me to purchase an expensive moisture it must be good.
Moving onto bodycare and more importantly body cream. My currently favourite is the Garnier Ultimate Blends Multi Purpose Soothing Balm for many reasons. The main reason I love this products is because its brilliant to use after you have shaved you legs. I find a lot of body creams irritate my shaven legs whereas this body cream leaves my legs feeling silky soft up the the next time I shave. This product is formulated for very sensitive fragile areas and can even be used as a face cream, I find its way too rich but if you suffer from very dry skin this may be worth checking out. I love the smell of this balm, it’s made from oat milk & white almond cream, its a very subtly scent making it ideal for sensitive skin.
To don’t usuall include many hair products but this one I have to mention I have been using the L’Oreal Elvie Extraordinary Clay Masque once a week to help keep my hair looking clean for longer. I have very fine hair, which gets greasy after 2 days, so I thought I would try out the masque and see if it really does help control your scalp oils. It’s amazing how much of a difference this product makes. All you do is apply it to your dry scalp, massage it in and then leave it for a few minutes. You then wash it out and then wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. It’s amazing how clean my hair feels after using this product and it means I can go up to three days without washing my hair, instead of my usual two days.
I have been suffering for peeling nails for a few month now (I don’t think swimming helped) and got to the point where I was fed up. I had heard about the Nails Inc Nailkale Super Base Coat and thought I would give it ago. I have been using this product for a couple of weeks and can already see an improvement. I reapply the base coat every couple of days, without a colour on top, and have been loving it. The nail varnish is a light green colour, which initially worried me, but it is clear on your nails. This nail varnish is packed full of superfood extracts (aloe vera, lemon, ginseng, pomegranate and grape) and vitamins (A,C,E,F,H) to give your nails the best treatment possible.
My final favourite this month has been a perfume, the L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette. In the Spring / Summer months I tend to wear perfumes that are more floral, instead of heavier perfumes. This one by L’Occitane is a lovely light floral perfume that always brings a smile to my face. One of the reason I love this perfume is the layers of scents, the notes of Sandlewood and White Musk sitting underneath a wash of Peony.
If you are ready for Summer then keep an eye out for next months favourites. I am going on holiday soon, so it will be packed with some of my Summer Holiday favourites along with other skincare / makeup pieces.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend!
