May Favourites

With May already been and gone, it’s time for another monthly favourite, I swear each month is going by quicker. I did a bit of travelling last month so a few of these favourite are holiday favourites too. May’s favourites are a mix of beauty, jewellery and books so grab a cuppa and enjoy.

Beauty

Starting off with makeup and I have been wearing the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Dusty Mauve a ton this month. The weather has been hot, for the majority of the month, so I have tended to use cream rather than powder eyeshadows. I have already mentioned this product a few times on my blog but it’s just so easy to use and lasts all day. I love how easy this cream shadow is to blend, I either use my fingertips or an eyeshadow brush from Real Techniques. Even on the hottest of days, this eye cream doesn’t budget until I take it off at night.

I only took two lip products on holiday and I literally wore this one every day, Clinique Chubby Stick in 06 Wappin’ Watermelon. I have always been a fan of the Clinique Chubby stick and this colour is just gorgeous. I love how moisturising the chubby stick is and its more of a tint rather than a solid colour. This products is so easy to wear and gives your lips a healthy pink shine, which is perfect for when you are on holiday. I have this product in a travel size version making it perfect for taking on holiday.

For Lip balm, I usually just stick to my Glossier Balm Dotcom, but I have nearly run out of it and felt having a lip balm in stick form would be better for holiday. My husband uses the Nivea Hydro Care SPF 15 so I thought I would give it ago, for £1.65 this lip balm is amazing. I find on holiday my lips can become very sore from all the sun and being in and out of the swimming pool. This lip balm managed to keep my lips hydrated and they didn’t get sore at all. I love that the Hydro Care doesn’t have a scent and has SPF 15 for added protection. I now use this lip balm during the day and then use my glossier at night for a touch more hydration. For £1.65 it does an incredible job.

Moving onto skincare and more specifically the Alpha H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid. I have quite sensitive skin so I was worried about giving this product a go but I finally took the plunge and I now love it. About a year ago everyone was raving about this product so I thought it was worth trying it out. I have been using this every other night, before my moisturiser, and have started to see some results. My chin, which has some redness and scarring from spots, has noticeably improved to the point where you can hardly see any redness. It’s a weird product to get use as you skin tingles after you apply it, but it only lasts for about 10 seconds. I have really enjoyed adding this product into my nighttime routine and I am so glad I gave it a go, I can now see what all the hype is about.

Jewellery

I have been looking for a rose gold watch for about 3 years now. I finally found the perfect one in duty-free and it’s the Tailor Multifunctional Rose Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Fossil Watch. I am completely in love with the style and look of this watch. It has a very clear clock face and then has two smaller dials with the month and day. I wore it nearly every day since I got it and I am so happy with it. I have quite a small wrist so I had a few links taken out and now it sits really nicely and it isn’t too heavy on my wrist. I have had a Fossil watch in the past and it’s still going strong, it’s definitely a brand that produces beautiful watches that really do last.

I recently decided to invest in some better earrings, as all my old ones were really old and cheap, so I was time to invest in some better ones. One of the pairs I picked up was the Ted Baker Stainless Steel Sinna Crystal Stud Earrings and I am loving wearing them. I love how light they are and that they can easily take you from day to night. They are a very classic look, with the stainless steel round setting, and a butterfly clasp at the back. These weren’t very expensive at £25 but they will last a lot longer than the ones I bought from new look a few years ago.

Other

My last favourite for last month if a book, which I think most bloggers own, and it’s The F Word by Lilly Pebbles. I use to love reading when I was younger, getting through at least 2 books a month, but since uni, I never seem to have time. I end up reading loads of blogs online but not physical books so when I went on holiday I took a book and forced myself to sit down, relax and have a read. It was the best decision and The F Word is one of those books you just can’t put down. The book is based around female friendships and it’s written brilliantly. I love how Lily shares her own personal female friendship experiences, good & bad, but also shares ways you can improve your friendship too. I am only about 1/3 of the way through the book but it really makes you think about your own friendships and how you can improve them.

What products have you been loving last month? If you want to see how I have been styling my watch the take a look at my Holiday Lookbook.

Have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday!

I think the shadow sticks are a hidden gem for Bobbi Brown, they are so creamy and increbible easy to blend out and use. If you are near a Bobbi Brown counter then go try them out, well worth it. Great choice The F Word is a must have for my book collection x
