Dream Bathroom Inspiration

Making plans for the further is something I love doing and my current project is getting ideas for our first house. Some of you may already know that I am an Interior Designer so I am always collecting pieces for inspiration. I thought I would share with you some of my favourite interiors inspiration from different rooms.

I thought I would start of with my favourite bathroom inspiration picture from Pinterest. I love looking on Pinterest for inspiration, it’s a great place to gather ideas and save them all in one place. So here are the different bathroom styles I absolutely love and would one day love to incorporate into our own home.

Sleek Modern Design

Sleek and Modern bathrooms are definitely my favourite style. I love how clean and simple they look, complimenting any house.  If you have a small bathroom then making your design sleek will make the space feel larger. When I think of sleek design the first thing that pops to mind is straight lines where everything follows a grid system. By following a grid system the bathroom will very sleek and easy on the eye.

Stunning Baths

For me you need to have a bath in at least one bathroom in your house. There are so many stunning baths to choose from but my favourite style has to be a stand alone bath. People always think you need a lot for space for a stand alone bath but thats not true, you just have to be cleaver in your design. One of my favourite ways to design this area is to have a open shower and a bath in front of each other separate with either glass or a tiled wall. There are so many options to choose from and Pinterest is a great way to get some inspiration.

Mix of Medias

When it comes to medias (texture, colour and materials) in any part of the house I have been trained to keep it to three and this rule includes the bathroom too. By following this your room will look sleek and well balanced. I love playing around with different textures, metals and colours to create a unique look that works seamlessly together.

My favourite mix of medias has to be white marble, glass and touches of pink. The style of bathroom and mix of medias used will all depend on what style you like and the era of your house. Sometimes its nice to include some of the character of the house into your bathroom, whether thats an exposed brick wall or even a beauty fire place.

Natural Light

It’s important to consider the natural light in a bathroom, whether its a small window or a whole section of sky lights, it all helps. The size of your room and size of the window will determine how much natural light you can being into the room. If your bathroom is on the top floor then you can easily look into adding sky lights or even light tubes.

With the natural light in mind it’s then time to plan your room around it. Looking at the right photo above you can see its a very narrow long bathroom, which has been designed in a way to look spacious and  elegant. The main reason it looks spacious is the amount of natural light flooding into the room and the use of light colours.

If you are planning your bathroom or looking at updating yours then hopefully this has given you some ideas. Going to a bathroom showroom is another great way to physically see how certain products fit into tight spaces and what works well together.

If you like this style of blog post and would like to see more interior design inspiration then let me know what you would like to see next.

Have a lovely weekend!

Steph x
