About 5 months ago I did an Empties blog post, which you all seemed the like so I thought I would do another one. I have been collecting these empties for about 4 months so there are quite a lot of beauty products to get through. I have split them into four different categories and at the end of each category I have put whether I would repurchase them or not, so lets get started.
Makeup & Perfume
Starting off with makeup I only have one product that I have completely used up and thats the L’oreal Nude Magique Cushion in (03). I brought this foundation last year after hearing loads of great reviews on it and loved the fact it had a very dewy finish. I think the main problems I had with this is the colour was a bit dark, so I could only wear it in the summer,. It also oxidised so I ended up looking slightly orange after an hour, which wasn’t great.
As for perfume, I only tend to use up perfume that I love so its’s easy to say that I love both of these. The Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne is such a gorgeous fresh fruity scent, which I love wearing in the sprig and summer months. I love how Jo Malone layer their scents so they last the whole day and as the day goes on your start to smell the different notes. The Dolce & Gabanna, Dolce Eau De Parfum has been one of my favourite perfumes in the last few months. I love how soft and subtle the scent is allowing you to wear it on a daily basis. I will definitely be purchasing this in the future, when I have used up a few of my other perfumes.
Would I repurchase:
L’oreal Nude Magique Cushion in (03) – No
Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne (tester size) – Maybe if it was on Offer
Dolce & Gabanna Dolce Eau De Parfum (tester size) – Yes in the future
Skincare
Skincare is normally the area that I use up the most products, especially travel size ones. I find with skincare I end up trying a few different products on the go and never use them up fully as I find another product I like more. This year I made an effort to use up all the travel size skincare products that were nearly empty and here is my verdict on them.
When it comes to Micellars I only use these as step 1 to taking of my makeup. I have been using up the My Little Box Eau Micellaire, which I received in a beauty box. This micellar is ok but nothing special and it did make my eyes sting a bit. For serums I had been using the Radial Stem Cell Magic Gel during the winter, when my skin was really dry, and this stuff is amazing. I was amazed how soft and hydrated my skin felt in the morning. I used this products every evening and saw visible results after a about a week of using it. One of the Moisturisers I had been using during the spring is the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet, which I received in my beauty advent calendar, and I don’t really know how I feel about this product. I really like the concept with its light weight whipped moisturiser that is incredibly hydrating, but I felt it just didn’t really work with my skin. In the spring I need something more gel like and in the winter I need a light weight oil free cream, which this was neither. If you have normal to dry skin this products would be perfect for you in the summer.
Moving onto the Liz Earle products, which I have been using religiously for about 8 years, until last autumn. I have mentioned before that my skin is gradually becoming more combination/oily than normal and I found that the liz Earle products were just not right for my changing skin. I love all of these products (Liz Earle Instant Boot Skin Tonic Spritzer and Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser) but I just cant use them right now.
Would I repurchase:
My Little Box Eau Micellaire – No
Liz Earle Eyebright (soothing eye lotion) – No (As I already have another one)
Liz Earle Instant Boot Skin Tonic Spritzer – No
Radial Stem Cell Magic Gel – Yes if it was on offer
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet – no
Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser – no
Haircare
I have been using a lot more hair products this year, as I had a crop cut last year so I needed to style it differently. One thing I do tend to use a lot is dry shampoo, just to keep my hair going between washes. I have tried out two different brands this year, the Co Lab Dry Shampoo Fresh came out far above Batiste Dry Shampoo Plus Heavenly Volume. When it comes to dry shampoo I want something that will get rid of the greasy feel, add some volume and not leave white makes and the Co Lab Dry Shampoo ticks all those boxes.
When Styling my hair I always use a heat protector, as it stops your hair from drying out and getting split ends. It tends to take me about a year to use up a heat protector but I have recently found one I much prefer to the VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray so I wont be repurchasing this one again.
Would I repurchase:
Batiste Dry Shampoo Plus Heavenly Volume – NO
Co Lab Dry Shampoo Fresh – Yes
VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray – NO
Suncream & Deodrant
Suncream is something I always have to hand and I usually stick to the same brands, so the Ultrasun Very High 50+ SPF Face is a suncream that I have been using for year. Last year I picked up the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL 50+ SPF Anti-Shine and I much prefer it to the Ultrasun now. I find the Ultrasun Face SPF is very thick and quite hard to run in where as the La Roche-Posay is more like a light face cream that rubs in quickly without leaving you looking greasy.
The last two items are anti-perspirant, which I have tried a lot of different brands over the years. I now use the Sure Maximum Protection Anti-persirant every night and it feels its the only one that really last for 24 hours and I can still smell it on the next morning. I use to take the Women Sure Invisible anti-perspirant on holiday but I find it doesn’t have a touch on the Sure Maximum Protection.
Would I repurchase:
Ultrasun Very High 50+ SPF Face – No
Sure Maximum Protection Anti-persirant Stress Control – Yes
Women Sure Invisible anti-perspirant – No
That was a lot longer than I anticipated but there were a lot of empties to get through. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and hopefully it gives you an idea of which product I love enough to repurchase again.
Have a lovely rest of your day!

Thank you x
I love Liz Earle products, the only reason I don’t purchase them is because they’re too expensive!

I agree Liz Earle is very expensive but sometimes it is worth the splurge for skincare x
