I’ve just come back from a lovely holiday in Portugal so I thought I would share with you some of my favourite outfits. There will be a lookbook going up on my Youtube channel soon so keep an eye out for that. When packing for holiday I try to take a few dresses/playsuits for the evenings, so that I have the options to dress up if I wanted. I have three outfits which I think are perfect for a summer evening dinner or even a little date night.
The Floaty Tea Dress Number
A floaty dress is a staple in my summer wardrobe, it’s so easy to throw on and doesn’t crease in the suitcase. This dress is from Primark and I am obsessed with the tiny white poka dots and beautiful crossover detail. The dress cinches you in at the waist and then flares out into a gorgeous floaty skater skirt. I love that this dress has two layers, a structured plain under skirt and then a gorgeous floaty sheer top layer, which means you don’t need to worry about flashing your underwear. I paired this with some ballet pumps but you could always wear some cute converses or even some sandals to make it look more casual.
I felt so comfortable and secure wearing this out and because it’s floaty you don’t get too hot in it. I think this would be perfect for a little date night or even a summer party and for £13 you can’t really go wrong. I think this style of dress is really classic and the pattern means it can be worn to any event.
White Lace Dress Number
Everyone seems to have at least one white dress in their summer wardrobe, as it’s so versitile and can easily be dressed up or dressed down. I recently found this lovely white lacy dress from Superdry, with a cute bow on the front. It has a zip down the side but also an elasticised back so it fits you nicely at the top and then flares out slightly at the bottom. My main bug bear with white dresses is how sheer they can look but this dress is made from a thicker materials, which also means it holds it’s shape too. One thing that drew me to this dress is that it has a large lace pattern which isn’t as delicate as other lace pieces I own. This means I don’t need to worry about getting something caught in the lace and then damaging the dress.
The other worry I have with a white dress, is that it can easily get damaged with stains, but you just need to look after it and be careful when wearing these pieces. I will probably wear this to a date night rather then too an event, as it is a bit shorter than the previous dress an it feels more flirty than sophisticated.
Cute & Playful Playsuit Number
The final outfit I wanted to share by far has to be my favourite, it’s a gorgeous playsuit from H&M. I have fallen completely in love with this and I am amazed by how comfortable it is to wear. Normally I struggle to find a playsuit that fits, as I am quite tall so they come up quite small on me, but this one fits perfectly. The shorts are long enough that they cover my bum (always a positive) and the elastic around the waist isn’t too tight, which means it doesn’t ride up. This floral white and blue flower pattern seem to be everywhere on the high street this season, so this is definitely an on trend piece, which I can still where year after year.
This playsuit if perfect for really hot days as the fabric is so light and floaty. I love wearing this to dinner in the evening or even on a casual date night. You can easily dress this up with a cute pair of block heel sandals or dress down with some espadrilles. Playsuits are something that everyone should have in their wardrobe, they are really versatile and great if you don’t want to wear a dress.
Keep an eye out on my Youtube Channel for new lookbook featuring all these pieces, its going up Sunday 22nd July at 10am.
Are there any pieces you have been loving for date nights this Summer?
