Over the past couple of years I have been fortunate to be able to travel to a few different countries, with a lot of saving involved. This has resulted in me catching the travel bug and I now have a list as long as my arm of all the places I would love to travel too. This year has involved quite a lot of traveling, with my brother living in Austria and my husband’s family in Portugal, it means we have an excuse to travel. When traveling, I try to get a full experience visiting less popular and tourist-free areas, towns and attractions, and asking locals for their recommendations. You would be surprised how much of a difference it makes! So I thought I would share the countries on the top of my bucket list.
Iceland
The first country I am dying to visit is Iceland and I’m so excited I can tick this off my list in October. I have always wanted to see the northern lights, and Iceland seemed like the perfect place to travel to for this and it’s picturesque landscape. Iceland seems like the perfect opportunities for some stunning photography and filming, I swear all we spend our money on is camera equipment and traveling. There are so many stunning places to visit along and around the Golden Circle, such as The Blue Lagoon, the Black Sand Beaches, Glaciers, amongst others. We soon need to plan our full itinerary, so if you have any suggestions let me know.
Lapland
Another Cold place on my bucket list is Lapland, but I don’t want to go at Christmas time. The first thing everyone thinks about when they hear Lapland is Christmas but there is so much more to this country. To start with Lapland has some of the purest air on earth, in the summer top temperatures are 35°C and in the winter it can drop to a freezing -30°C. Obviously Lapland is another place you can see the northern lights from and beautiful Reindeer too. I think sometimes it’s nice to escape the busyness of everyday life and just complete shut off from everything and truly relax.
New Zealand
Moving to the otherside of the world with New Zealand. New Zealand has been on my bucket list ever since I started one, there’s just something about the country that makes me want to jump on a plane and travel there now as it has so much to offer all year round! I would love to travel to New Zealand for at least three weeks as I feel it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity so you might as well make the most of it. A few places I would love to visit is Milford Sound, Mount Taranaki and the beautiful Golden Beaches.
Canada
North America will always hold a special place in my heart as I spent two years of my childhood living there. One things I loved about North America is there is so much to see in one continent from snowy mountains to scorching hot desserts. Canada has always entreged me and its somewhere I would love to visit. My dad always talks about his travels around Canada and they sounded amazing. Niagra Falls, Banff National Park and Miette Hot Springs are all on my list of places I’d love to visit.
I have also listed bellow some of the other others place on my bucket list. I have so many places I would like to travel too and people always tell me ‘do your traveling whilst you are young and child free’. I disagree with this when I was growing up, especially in America, we did lot of traveling and as a kid it really opens up you eyes to what the world has to offer. I can imagine traveling with kids is very difficult but they will get so much from it and that way you can tick off your bucket list together.
The rest of my bucket list:
New York
South Africa
Thailand
Mauritius
Road trip round Italy ( Rome, Florence, Venice)
Amsterdam
Maldives
Do you have any places you are dying to visit.
