The Beauty Summer Edit

IMG_9314IMG_9317

Recently I have noticed the temperature has really dropped and this has led me to switch around my skincare and makeup products to suit the colder climate. I thought before I put all my summer beauty products away I would share with you my beauty edit for this summer, including all my go-to beauty products from skincare to haircare.

For skincare, the two products that I have really been reaching for are the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo  Unifant in Tente Light and Elizabeth Arden Prevage City Smart. I find in the summer months I don’t like wearing foundation so any skincare that adds a touch of coverage like the Effaclar Duo Unifant I am love. The Prevage City Smart is a product a lot of bloggers have been raving about this summer and for good reason. If you are on the hunt for a skincare product that helps protect your skin against Pollution and harmful UV rays then this is the product for you. I love that you can use this product as a moisturiser, which I tend to do, and it just gives my skin that extra layer of protection when I’m out and about.

During the summer months, I like to wear lightweight makeup that looks natural and glowy. Starting off with my primer and the Benefit Porefessional Primer has been an absolute lifesaver, it makes a gorgeous base and really helps to minimise any large pores. This product has a weird texture but once I got over that I fell in love. The Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk is my favourite blusher when it’s hot outside, you can’t really go wrong with a liquid blush. Dusk is a gorgeous pinky-brown shade so it also doubles up as bronzer on your cheeks, two products in one YAY!

I have loved wearing highlighter this summer, I finally caved in and brought the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone. I have tried a few highlighters in the past but this one has brown all the others out of the water, I am just obsessed. I love adding a tiny amount of this to the high points of my cheeks and on my cupids bow, just to add a little extra glow. I love how pigmented this product is so a light dusty is all you need. A new purchase, which quickly turned into a favourite, is the Soph X Revolution Lipstick in Cake. I wore a lot of matt lipstick during the summer but it was so refreshing to wear a nude lip with a satin finish. I love how this shade is slightly dark then my lips but looks so natural with a satin finish, it’s also a complete steal at £4 from Superdrug.

I tend to wear a lot of perfumes in the summer, with the one I wore the most being  Dolce & Gabbana Eau Intense Pour Homme Light Blue. There is just something about this perfume I just love, it so fresh but with a gorgeous depth to the scent. This perfume has base notes of Musks, Gaiac Wood, Amber Wood, which are similar notes of my husband’s aftershave which I why I like I love this perfume so much.

With all the hot weather I find my nails can become very dry and flakey so investing in them was the Nails Inc Nailkale Superfood Base Coat was a must. I ended up wearing this nearly every day during the summer whether it was on its own, as a treatment, or under my favourite nude nail polish. My nails are now the best they have been in ages and its all down to the base coat. From keeping your nails nourished to your skin the Sanctuary Spa Body Butter is a product I go back to year after year. When I am on holiday I much prefer a hydrating body butter, then a thin lotion, to soothe my body after being in the sun. The original Sanctuary range also smells like a spa, which is heavenly.

For hair, I have been using the Joice Hair Shake to help add some texture to my hair. I have found this product has helped me create gorgeous beachy waves, which last all day. It really helps add some volume and texture without leaving your hair too messy.

In July we went on a little trip to the Cotswolds, for our 1 year wedding anniversary, and the hotel had lots of Temple Spa products in the room. One of the product was the Temple Spa Quietude -calming mist for me & my space, which I have now started using every night. I like to use this product as a room spray just before we go to bed and it really helps me to relax upwind, especially when we were having the heatwave.

What products have you been loving this summer?
