With Autumn practically here there are a few things I like to do to get prepared for the cooler days and the drop in temperature.
Starting off with my skincare routine, which I like to switch up every season. My skin is one of the first signs that Autumn is coming, it becomes less oily and craves for my hydration. I like to add in some oils to my evening skincare routine, it gives my skin that extra boost of moisture without over loading it. I also switch up my moisturiser for a cream, rather then a gel formulation I reach for during the summer months. I tend to also use hydrating masks more in the autumn and not use clay masks as much. I recently picked up a few products from Lumene, which I feel will be perfect for the cooler months, so can’t wait to given them ago.
Going through my makeup collections and I tend to use more powder products in the Autumn months. I still love wearing my Glossier Cloud paint but eye shadow wise I have switched up my cream shadows for powder ones instead. I tend to wear natural makeup all year round but to keep the summer glow during the autumn I love adding a touch of bronzer to my makeup looks. I also find I need to wear a moisturising primer under my foundation, just to even out any dryer patched of skin I may have. I love wearing a darker lip in the autumn/winter months so I have pulled out my dark lipsticks / Lip creams and cant wait to start wearing them again. Along with a dark lip I also love wearing dark nail varnish too, makes a change from the nude polishes I wear all summer long.
Fashion wise my wardrobe is in much need of a good sort out. I still have lots of summer dresses and tops in my wardrobe and I really need some cosy knitted jumpers, especially as the morning are getting a lot colder. My staple wardrobe piece in autumn have to be skinny jeans, grey faux suede biker jacket, knitted jumpers and ankle boots. Every season I like to update my capsule wardrobe and limit myself to only buying a couple of new fashion pieces. This means I am more likely to wear every since piece of clothing in my wardrobe and I don’t regret purchases which were brought without thinking or knowing I need them.
Are you ready of autumn or still holding on to summer for as long as you can?
