6 Ways to Feel Festive This Christmas

Christmas is by far my favourite time of the year, there’s something so cosy and uplifting about the build up to Christmas. There are a few things I like to do throughout December to make me feel really festive and full of the Christmas Spirit. If you are current not feeling festive yet then read on and see if any of the bellow help out a little.

Putting up the Christmas Tree

The first thing I do on December 1st is put up the Christmas tree, we like to make an evening out of it. I think a home immediately feels more festive then a tree in up, with the fairy lights twinkling away. We have decided to go for a white and champagne colour scheme and I am loving it. We are in a little one bed flat so we have a 6 foot tree in the corner of our lounge/diner and I just love it.

Christmas Songs

I love Listening to Christmas songs, whether it’s in the kitchen or driving to work, I love singing along to all my faovurite songs. Last year I made a Playlist on Spotify, full of my faovurite Christmas songs, which will be on repeat for the next month.¬† Some of my favourite Christmas songs are:

Sleigh Ride by The Ronettes
I’ll Be Home by Meghan Trainor
Believe by Josh Groban
Carol of the Bells by Mykola Dmytrovywch Leontovych

Christmas Pyjamas

I love my Next Christmas Pyjamas bottoms, they are so soft and snuggly. There is something so nice about having a set of Christmas pyjamas, especially if you can convince your other half or family to all wear matching sets.

Evening in with Mulled Wine and a Christmas Movies

If there is any excuse for a Christmas movie I am there. I just can’t get enough of them. With a cosy and festive house it’s a shame to not spend some time enjoying it, so an evening in is the perfect opportunity to do so. My favourite drink, when watching a Christmas movie, has to be a Mulled Wine (can’t really go wrong with those two.) If you are stuck for which movie to watch here are my go to Christmas movies:

Arthur Christmas
The Grinch
The Polar Express
The Holiday

Planning out Gifts for Family and Friends

For me Christmas is all about family and giving, whether that is a present of just spending some lovely quality time with family and friends. I like to make a list of all the presents I need to buy, so that I don’t miss anyone out and can plan what I need when I go Christmas Shopping. I like to do most of my shopping in person rather then online, I know it can be very busy but I enjoy shopping in shops.

Wrapping presents

This is one of the last things I do, as I like wrapping everyones presents in one go, rather then doing it as I buy them. Wrapping presents is one of my things about Christmas and when I feel the most festive. When I wrap all the presents I like to have a Christmas Movie in the background and a hot chocolate to hand. When the presents are all wrapped I then pop them under the tree ready to be taken to my loved one.

I would love to know what makes you feel Festive at Christmas.

Merry Christmas!
