Animal print became really big last year, with all the shops coming out with some amazing pieces. It’s a style I was always a bit hesitant to try out as I was really unsure how to style it. Back in November I had a Personal Shopping Experience at Topshop, where they had a huge variety of animal prints. After trying on a few different pieces I decided to purchase a leopard print shirt, as I felt it would be easy to style and would fit nicely with the current pieces in my capsule wardrobe.
So how do I like to style animal print?
I would say my style is normally quite classic where possible. I tend to invest in pieces I know will be in year after year, which means the large proportion of my wardrobe colour palette is grey / blush pinks & white. I obviously have a few pieces that are more colourful or trend related, this helps keep my wardrobe up to date and makes it easy to create a variety of outfits.
There are a couple of ways I love wearing this animal print shirt. The first is with my trusty H&M jeans and a cute grey suede jacket. For me when it comes to styling animal print I like to make the rest of my outfit quite simple so my outfit has one focal point. I also love wearing this shirt with leather trousers, its quite an edgy look for me especially when I wear black high heel boots. The style of this shirt also lends itself to being a classic and versatile piece, with its heavy weight and silky texture, it makes any outfit look chic and effortless.
I found Instagram and Pinterest a great source of inspiration for styling animal print, no matter what style you have. If you are worried on how much wear you going to get out of a piece then choose something you can easily incorporate into your wardrobe and know you will wear. If you don’t think you can pull off animal print clothing then why not look at adding it in through accessories instead.

I’m not a huge lover of animal print as find it can be too overbearing. That said, I like how effortlessly you’ve styled this outfit. I think pairing it with the plainer jacket and jeans is a great look.
