With Christmas next week, the count down has begun. I thought it would be nice to share a couple of ways you can get in some last-minute self-care this Christmas. I always find Christmas quite hectic and stressful at points so it’s important to take a little time for yourself. There are so many things you can do and it doesn’t have to take long. Just a little something to cheer you up or give you a little break.
Snuggling up with a book
One of my favourite things to do at Christmas is snuggling up infront of the fire with a good book. There are so many great Christmas books, easy reads are one of my favourite kind of books. If you don’t want to read a book why not flick through a magazine of a coffee table book . Just 10 minutes of reading a book can really help refresh your mind and give you a well due break.
Get all dressed up
Something I am so excited to do this Christmas is taking some time to get ready. On Christmas day I always get dressed up, pop on some makeup and do my hair. For me it makes the day feel extra special, and makes me feel amazing. A red lip is always an instant mood lifter for me, makes me feel great and confident. To be honest, this year has mainly been loungewear so any excuse to get dressed up I will take.

Spend a little longer on your evening skincare routine
Why not add an extra step into your evening skincare routine one evening. Use that face mask you have been dying to try out. Your skin will thank you along with your mental health. If you don’t want to spend extra time in the bathroom then sheet masks are brilliant. I love popping one whilst watching a Christmas movie and drinking a glass of mulled wine.
Have a cosy evening in
Pick an evening where you have no plans and make it super cosy and Christmasy. Light your favourite candle, pop a movie or tv series on the tv, you’ve been dying to watch. Why not even treat yourself to your favourite drink! My perfect cosy evening would include The White Company Winter Candle, watching Arthur Christmas and a glass of Mulled Wine. Oh and don’t forget the cosy blankets!
Wearing some jewellery
How long ago was it you last wore jewellery? For me, it’s been months. Jewellery is something I use to always wear but now I hardly wear it and that’s something I want to change. Taking the time to pick out a necklace or some rings to wear can make outfit look complete. This intern makes you feel like you made more of an effort.
How are you going to be practising self-care this Christmas?

These are helpful tips for self care! I think this is really important at the best of times, but even more so in winter during a pandemic.

I completely agree, especially as Christmas this year for many is far from what we all imagine it to be x
I definitely think getting dressed up on Christmas day is one of my favourite things to do. I love having a quick pamper session and making the effort for the day.

Spending more on my skincare routine definitely makes me feel more luxurious. A face mask whilst watching a movie sounds like the dream x
