Four Things I’m Grateful for in 2020

2020 has been a really hard year, but I wanted to put a positive spin on it. I thought I would share four things I am grateful in 2020, as there is always light even in the darkest of times.

Having my little Baby Boy

I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy back in May has been one of the things that kept me going. Don’t get me wrong it has been a real struggle at times, but being able to slow down has really help me to treasure all those amazing moments.

Family

Weirdly I’ve spoken to my family more last year and any other year. Technology has been a lifesaver, enabling us to talk and see loved ones, easing the pain of not physically being able to see them. Slowing down has also made me realise how we need to take more time for our family and friends. Sometime even just a 10-minute phone call a week, it makes a world of difference.

How Strong I am

We are so much stronger than we think! Mentally 2020 has been difficult and some days I’ve just had to tell myself tomorrow is a new day. You can make it! We have all had dark days but you will be ok and get through it. My husband has been my greatest supporter this year and I’m so thankful for that. I know our lives will eventually get back to some sort of normal but for now, we’ve make a new normal for our little family.

Self-Care

You have to be selfish and take some me time! I’ve been trying to do more of this, even if that’s just making a cup of tea and watching a Youtube video. It’s a much-needed way of mentally resetting and taking a quick break. With my husband currently working for home, it makes it easier to take a quick 5 mins for me.

I’d love to know what you are grateful for in 2020 and what you are looking forward to in 2021?

Steph x

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy, Steph! It’s great that you have taken the time to list all the things that you are grateful for despite the situation. Likewise, I believe that it is important to look on the flip side. Doing so has helped me become more positive too. All the best in 2021, Steph! 🙂

Love that this year managed to give you so much close time with your newborn! One of my friends became a father back in April, and he said that (like you) it was tough, but he wouldn’t trade it in for the world!

I completely agree with that. Having a newborn in a pandemic is not easy but there are so many positives to being stuck at home. It allowed us to settle into family life and watch our little boy grow. Can’t believe he is already 8 months now x

I felt the same, time seemed to fly by so quickly so really being able to slow down felt amazing in some ways. I truly believe things happen for a reason, I suppose that’s where I get some of my positivity from x

Congratulations on your baby boy, you two look cosy and cute in the picture! I was truly grateful we had time to slow down and put things back into perspective instead of running just on routine. I hope this year will bring you even more joys and time with your family. Thanks for sharing x

Thank you, it was a freezing cold day but having the sunshine made it such an enjoyable walk! It’s amazing how much slowing down really makes. Yeah I’m excited to spend lots more time as a family but also crave a bit of normality too x
