Function of Beauty has been spoken about in the blogging community for years, so back in December, I decided to finally see what all the hype was about. I thought it was the right time to give you a full review and my thoughts on the Function of Beauty haircare range and why I now love this brand too.
What is Function of Beauty
Function of Beauty is a hair and skincare brand where you can tailor-make the products to suit your needs. Before you place your order you fill in a quiz, picking out all the things you want your haircare/skincare products to be. I have only used their haircare service and the quiz went through a lot of different needs like your hair type, what type of scalp you have (oily, dry, combination etc), and hair goals. You can also choose your scent along with the colour of your products. After you fill out a quick quiz Function of Beauty come up with your custom formulation, which is then incorporated into all your haircare products. The whole process is really quick and so much fun. Yes, it is more expensive than your average hair care brand but do any other brands let you customise the formulation?
What do I think of the products
I have to be honest in the first month I wasn’t sure I had made the right picks for my hair goals. My hair is naturally fine with a greasy scalp and my hair didn’t last very long between washes. I have been doing a double wash and conditioner, as recommended. Eventually I worked out that my hair just doesn’t like conditioner on the scalp. I now just put conditioner on the bottom half of my hair and I’m now loving these products. My hair feels fresh and clean for three days now, whereas previously I would have to wash my hair every other day. I don’t think I have anything negative to say.
I picked up the ‘isn’t she (bubb)ly’ limited edition scent and it smells incredible. With notes of champagnes and sweet orange oil this such a unique and gorgeous scent. I also love that you can personalise your bottles with your name, which is such a nice touch. Another great thing about Function of beauty, it’s a subscription service. You can choose how often you want your hair care products delivered and can cancel at any time. Such a genius idea so you never have to worry about running out of your favourite shampoo, or finding it has been discontinued again.
I am sold, I wish I had signed up to Function of Beauty haircare products years ago. My hair honestly feels so much healthier now and I feel my hair now is at its full potential. My hair is thicker and healthier than it ever has been and I couldn’t be happier. I think I might also give their skincare and body care range a try too. I suppose it just shows that tailor-making haircare to each person’s needs really is the way forwards. If you fancy giving it a go yourself you can get 20% off your first order here. I’d love to know if you have tried Function of Beauty and what your thoughts are.
