Choosing what to buy for family and friends at Christmas can be difficult at times and very expensive. If you are looking for a more personalized gift then why not think about making something. I love making gifts for family and friends and it means the gift has more value sometimes as you have made it yourself. I have two different types of gifts, which would make lovely gifts this Christmas, so let’s get started.
Homemade Christmas Decorations
If you have a bit of time on your hands and want to make something that your family and friends can use year after year then why not make some Christmas Tree decorations. There are so many different ways you could make them, but these have been made from wire, wrapped like a ball of yarn, and then spray painted white. They are really easy to make and the best thing about wire is you can make any shape and size you want. I have then added a red ribbon on the ball so it can be hung up. These baubles are about the size of my hands and look beautiful hanging on my parent’s tree.
You could make a set of Christmas decorations and then package them in a box, or make the box yourself. I decided to make a set of four but you could make as many as you wanted and maybe vary the size of them too.
Homemade Chocolate Bark
About 5 years ago I started to make Chocolate as part of my families Christmas Presents. It’s a very quick and easy gift to make and everyone always loves it. Over the years I have tried out different combinations of ingredients and toppings. I usually combine milk, white and dark chocolate into a large tray and then create a marble effect with the chocolate. I then add my toppings. This year I have gone for three different ones: marshmallow, raisins & hazelnuts, and Candy canes. You could put whatever topping you like, and be creative!
If you are into baking then why not bake some gingerbread men or some chocolate orange brownies. There are so many different presents you could make yourself. Hopefully, this blog post has given you some ideas if you are stuck. I have already posted Christmas gift guide for him and her, so if you’re still stuck then go take a look at those. Have a lovely rest of your day and see you tomorrow.
Merry Christmas, Steph x
